Analysis of the Performance Capabilities of Large Computer Networks in the IoT Scenario
This project aims to discover the capabilities of large computer networks (e.g. the Internet) considering the emerging scenario imposed by Internet of Things (IoT), which will increase the number nodes at the edges of the network. Moreover, the migration of Internet Protocol (IP) technology from IPv4 to IPv6 increased the amount of devices that can be directly connected to the Internet from 4.3 billion to 340 undecillion. These two facts may lead the Internet structure and function to significant changes. The Network Science (NS) theory associated to High Performance Computing (HPC) hardware are used to achieve our objectives. The results of this research could guide the development of new algorithms, concepts and technologies that will make IoT establishment a more predictable process.
